First-run onboarding

What a new employee sees the first time they open the Vibe app.

3 min readUpdated April 20, 2026

The Vibe app is designed for the 30 seconds a teammate has between meetings. First-run onboarding is deliberately short — three screens, then they're in.

The three screens

  1. 1

    Meet Luna

A short illustrated intro to the Vibe companion — Luna the dog. Explains in one sentence that the app tracks mood, not minutes.

  2. 2

    Join your company

The teammate enters the 5-character company code, or taps the magic link from an invitation email. Validates in under a second.

  3. 3

    Set a reminder

Pick a time of day for a daily nudge — the default is 5pm. Skippable. Notifications can be enabled later from Settings.

What's not on screen

We deliberately don't ask for a name, a birthday, gender, or a photo. The only personal data stored is the email used for authentication.

If a teammate's first check-in happens in onboarding, the dashboard response rate ticks up immediately. That's a small but meaningful early win — tell them.
